How should I dress for an oral interview?
ADVICE FROM CAROLINE REY, BUSINESS SCHOOL JURY MEMBER
I gave business school orals and was shocked by a startling fact...
Girls dress worse than boys!
𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗮̀ 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲̀𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲... 𝗖'𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗰 𝘂𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗱𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗱!
Where young men are all dressed in suits, more or less classic and of equal quality, young women are often dressed in "patchwork".
The reduced choice dictated by fashion forces these young women to choose unflattering cuts ill-suited to their figure.
Poor-quality, badly-cut polyester suits...
Oversized garments that are too "trendy" to be understood by the juries, and give the impression of having worn one's father's jacket...
The examples are numerous.
Rare are those who manage to stand out from the crowd with a formal, elegant outfit.

Is clothing a trivial matter?
An "impeccable" outfit is important to get these interviews off to a good start. Quality and well-cut, it won't give you anything to "complain about".
1. The juror will start with a good apriori
2. He'll focus on the candidate's presentation and get to know him better.
3. In turn, the candidate won't be distracted by his or her appearance, and will feel more confident and self-assured!
This is the key to success!
A good suit or professional outfit is an investment for the start of your career, and for all the important moments in your professional life. It's a way of gaining confidence and putting all the cards on your side.
